Dropout Rates

Dropout rates are important indicators of school performance. According the the Arizona State Department of Education, dropout rates are calculated on the basis of students who are enrolled at any point during the year, but are not enrolled at the end of the school year, but did not graduate or transfer or die. The fact that the rates vary along with the economic status of the surrounding community also suggests that a great many factors combine to affect school performance in this area.
