Green Economy

The Brookings Institution in cooperation with the Battelle Technology Partnership has begun a program to explore development of the “green economy” in the United States.  This Green or “clean” economy is important to our region because it provides higher income for workers with less education and skill than many other jobs in still growing sectors of the economy. “Green Collar” jobs are those for which the average wage is higher than for other segments of the economy for the same level of education, training or skill.
