Tucson’s Cultural Heritage

An effort has been initiated to highlight and inform residents and visitors to the Greater Tucson Region about the diverse cultures that make up its unique heritage. Recently, a cooperative effort to develop and support heritage tourism in the Santa Cruz Valley has begun in earnest. Among the themes that are being featured within this area are Native American Lifeways and Desert Farming, as well as Bird Habitats and Migration Routes. Due notice is also given to Ranching Traditions, Mining Booms and U.S./Medico Border Culture. An interactive heritage map provides an excellent introduction to the variety of resources available.
