CAPLA Faculty Iris Patten Helps UA Identify Solar Insolation Sites with Greatest Potential

Iris Patten, assistant professor in planning, will assist counties and communities plan for solar energy development and infrastructure on feasible and valid locations. With the help of Mark B. Apel (UA Coopetative Extension agent for Cochise County), Melanie Myers-Colavito (a doctoral candidate in geography), and other professionals whom are part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the team is planning to develop a geodatabase for every county in Arizona by the end of the spring 2013 semester.
