Dean Cervelli and Dr. Nelson Present at Arizona Forward Event: Downtown Tucson Rising: How Sustainable Development Can Energize Public Health and Economic Wealth
Nearly half of the buildings that will be standing in 2030 don't exist today. Emerging trends in housing and transportation will profoundly influence how we reinvent
our urban areas, making them more sustainable and livable for future generations. Arizona is finally starting to show its wrinkles. However, our downtowns can be rejuvenated by interconnecting spaces with multi-modal transportation and mixed-use development through diverse public and private partnerships. This event featured the following distinguished panelists: Fletcher McCusker, CEO, Sinfonia HealthCare Corp., and chair of the board for Rio Nuevo, Michael Keith, CEO, Downtown Tucson Partnership, Arthur C. Nelson, associate dean for research and discovery, University of Arizona. The session was moderated by: Janice Cervelli, dean of the UA College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture.
