Planning Professor Dr. Chris Nelson moderated a day-long symposium on "The Missing Middle Housing" for the Utah Land Use Institute. As demographics change America's housing market, Dr. Nelson showed there is growing demand for more attached housing but not high-rises, smaller homes on smaller lots, and non-traditional owner/tenant housing options. At the same two-day event, Dr. Nelson was a respondent to scientists and planners presenting their research into the unique air quality challenges facing the Salt Lake basin which leads to among the nation's highest levels of air pollution.
