MS. Arch Students Win National Awards!
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) Advisory Council has selected the submission "Engineering Innovation Building (EIB) | CAPLA Ms. Arch, University of Arizona - Where Big Ideas Come to Life" as the runner-up for the 2014 AASHE Awards in the category of Best Case Study from a Four-Year or Graduate Institution with More Than 10,000 Full-Time Students. Congratulations to current M.Arch students Mohamed El Zomor and Elmira Shojaei, recent grad Omar Youssef (MS.Arch 2014) and faculty member Professor Nader Chalfoun.
And that’s not all! MS.Arch student Osvaldo Ruiz was awarded the 2014 Carson REN Energy Fellowship in renewable energy science, technology, economics, business, and policy. The fellowship is designed to complement and enhance training outside of the university laboratory and classroom to assist students in preparing to address local, regional, national and global energy challenges.The Carson/REN fellowship provides a $5,000 stipend to students for a three-month summer position with a Federal research laboratory or industrial organization involved with issues of sustainable and renewable energy.
