R. Brooks Jeffery has been invited to be the plenary speaker at the "25th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Historic Centre of Oaxaca and Archaeological Site of Monte Albán as a World Heritage Site" occurring on Dec 10-11, 2012 co-sponsored by UNESCO and the Zona Arqueologica de Monte Albán.  He will be speaking on the development of bi-national relations between Mexico and United States as a result of a recent institutional agreement renewal between their two federal heritage conservation agencies – the Mexican Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia (INAH) and the American National Park Service (NPS) - and the specific projects it has generated. The UA Heritage Conservation program, under Jeffery's leadership, has been the lead educational partner in these efforts which has translated into numerous bi-national opportunities for his students and the transfer of traditional knowledge, preservation best practices, and working partnerships between the two countries.
