Houston Harris, Sustainable Built Environments student, is working this summer in the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program. The Doris Duke program is an opportunity for undergraduates interested in environmental and cultural diversity issues to learn conservation and leadership skills. So far Houston has assisted in projects such as banding hawks and has studied the accuracy of a new method of testing fish species on the Navajo Nation by testing their DNA abundance in water samples.
