SoA Reaches Out to the Community with Freedom by Design
SoA students Jaime Sevilla, Chris Maltez, Erica Blank, Andrew Cusick, Alex Zee, Jordan Koop, We'aam Alabullah, Niloufar Emami, Nada Asadullah, Nada Alqallaf, William Ruoff and Yukun Zhou recently participated in Freedom by Design, an AIAS-sponsored outreach program that uses the design and construction skills of architecture students to help low-income and disabled people in our community by modifying and enhancing their homes.
This year, the students designed and built a ramp in Marana for Robert Cartwright, a young man (33 years old) who suffered a stroke last year and needed to make some adjustments to his house in order to make his life easier. Huge kudos to our students for making such a direct and positive impact on our community! You can learn more about Freedom by Design nationally here.
