This course explores various cultural, social, technological, and ideological influences on the built environments of different cultures from around the world, between approximately 1350 and the late nineteenth century. In addition to investigating individual works of architecture, the course examines developing ideologies of prominent practitioners and theoreticians.
 
This course explores architectural history and theory thematically, focusing on key social, economic, and political paradigms that have shaped architectural practice in the twentieth century.
