This course addresses design concerns associated with tourism throughout the globe. Discussion will focus on design, planning and development strategies for existing and new tourism destinations. We will consider the social, environmental and cultural impacts of tourism development; factors that contribute to successful and unsuccessful tourism; and strategies that benefit both locals and visitors when tourism is conducted in a sustainable manner.
 
Case studies will feature predominantly in this course with presentations and class discussions about the issues raised and potential solutions to those issues.
