The Archon Seminar Room provides spectacular panoramic views of the four major mountain ranges that encircle Tucson. This special meeting room sits atop the CAPLA building and is used for special events, meetings, and conferences.

The Archon Seminar Room is a special place in our college. In the words of the benefactor, "every college needs a place where one can go to dream…".

The Archon Seminar Room is a gift of A. Richard "Dick" Williams, FAIA. Dick was born in Evanston, Illinois 1914 had many great accomplishments to his name including, B.Arch, University of Illinois, 1936, Highest Honors; AIA Medal; M.Arch. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1939; MIT School Medal; Director Graduate Architecture Program, University of Illinois, 1957-70; President, Illinois Council AIA, 1973-74; Fellow AIA, 1971; ACSA Distinguished Professor, 1986; AIA Illinois Education Medal, 1986; AIA Honor Awards for College of Education, U. of Illinois; Concordia Library, Springfield Illinois; Own Residence, Champaign, Illinois; 2nd Appellate Court, Elgin, Illinois; Author of Book, "The Urban Stage" 1981; Distinguished Visiting Professor, CAPLA, University of Arizona, 1986 –present; Visiting Architect, American Academy in Rome, 1964, 1991, 1999, 2002; "Illinois Medal" School of Architecture, University of Illinois, 2007; Fellow ARC – Art, Religion and Contemporary Culture, 2001; AIA/ACSA TOPAZ Medallion Nominee, 1976, 2006, 2007; Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, University of Arizona, 2010.
