Biography

Shujuan Li PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning. Before Joining the University of Arizona, Li worked in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at Utah State University for eight years. She graduated with a Ph.D. degree in geography from Texas A&M University in 2009. She received a master’s degree in ecology from Peking University and a bachelor degree in geography from Beijing Normal University in China. Her research interests include the integration of spatial analysis and modeling with GIS for urban and environmental studies, geodesign, landscape ecology, and land-use dynamics and planning.

Sonoran Birds and Climate Change: UArizona Landscape Architecture Students Work with Community to Design Urban Bird Habitats

In a collaborative effort between students in CAPLA’s Master of Landscape Architecture program and key community organizations, the recent Sonoran Birds + Climate Change studio led by Mackenzie Waller took on the task of reimagining a small neighborhood park in Tucson.

Plan the Plan

Plan the Plan aims to apply crowd-source technology to foster greater inclusion and social justice in the City of Tucson’s neighborhood planning process. CALPLA faculty and students applied this platform to seven neighborhoods in the Grant-Alvernon area of Tucson, Arizona.
