A founding principal of Studio Ma, an award winning architectural practice based in Phoenix, Dan was active in the firm from 2003-2017 where his work included planning, urban design and architectural design. Notable projects with Studio Ma include the Downtown Phoenix Urban Form Project, Sun Devil Fitness Complex and Memorial Union Plaza for Arizona State University. He has taught widely and was the Head of the Department of Architecture at Cranbrook Academy of Art from 1986-1998 were he also served as the campus architect and head of the Cranbrook Architecture Office, a design-build office building various permanent structures on the campus. The speculative work of the the Department was published by Rizzoli in the monograph "Architecture Studio." Dan currently coordinates the Foundation and Capstone courses at the School of Architecture as well as teaching theory seminars.
