School of Landscape Architecture and Planning Assistant Professor Arlie Adkins has recently had some of his research published as a part of the article, "Racial Bias in Driver Yielding at Crosswalks." The multi-university research team of UA's own Arlie Adkins along side Portland State University researchers Kimberly Kahn and Tara Goddard discovered that Afridan-Americans experienced a wait time of approximately 32% longer than for whites before drivers chose to yeild.

The story along with other highlights from the article has been picked up by UA News, and the Arizona Public Media group including PBS and NPR, 89.1. and 1550FM. Check out the radio piece here: https://www.azpm.org/s/34334-ua-study-drivers-exhibit-racial-bias-towards-pedestrians/
