CALA Professor Margaret Livingston named one of 25 Most Admired Educators of 2012 by DesignIntelligence
The Design Futures Council's DesignIntelligence has named CALA School of Landscape Architecture and Planning Professor Margaret Livingston as one of their 25 Most Admired Educators of 2012. Each year, DesignIntelligence honors excellence in education and education administration by naming 25 exemplary professionals.
The citation reads: "Livingston teaches courses related to ecological and environmental issues in arid environments and leads workshops focused on water conservation, wildlife habitat, and the use of native plants in urban areas. As an urban ecologist, her work emphasizes the importance of evaluating and maintaining natural and semi-natural ecosystems in and around urban areas. As a designer, she focuses on the use of native plants and design of urban wildlife spaces."
The 2012 class of education role models was selected by DesignIntelligence staff with extensive input from thousands of design professionals, academic department heads, and students. Educators and administrators from the disciplines of architecture, industrial design, interior design, and landscape architecture are considered for inclusion.
