photoJanice Cervelli, FASLA, FCELA, Dean of the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, was one of 20 higher education and sustainability leaders from around the world invited to participate in a special planning meeting on January 31- February 4 in Salzburg, Austria for the new Sustainable Futures Leadership Academy.  The purpose of the gathering was to inform the design of the Academy to be offered in collaboration with partners around the world, with the purpose of the advancement of the capability of senior higher education leaders in driving sustainability in to the core business of their institutions (teaching, research, operations, and community outreach).   Sponsored by the Salzburg Global Seminar, participants advised on the creation of a collaborative, non-proprietary model for sharing and advancing the leadership academy through emergent regional and national partnerships around the world.  The goal is the creation of a program that is responsive to the interest and needs of both developing and developed country higher education leaders.
