A new series of workshops offered by the University of Arizona College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture teaches participants how to transform their ordinary residential landscapes into distinctive garden rooms for outdoor living.

Low Water Use Plants for Residential Landscape Design takes participants on two field trips and focuses on how to select appropriate plants for the specific projects.
In Creative Residential Landscape Design, participants learn how to transform their problem landscapes into aesthetically-pleasing outdoor spaces. Award-winning designer Shelly Abbott provides individualized instruction and steps on how to develop a master plan for the home landscape.

All workshops meet on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the UA College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, 1040 N. Olive Rd., on the UA Main Campus. Parking is free.

Workshop Instructor Shelly Ann Abbott, MLA, and University of Arizona Adjunct Lecturer, is an award-winning Master of Landscape Architecture graduate from the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning at the University of Arizona, a native Tucsonan and business owner.
