Rosenbloom Named Transportation Research Board Executive Committee Chair
Dr. Sandra Rosenbloom, Professor of Planning in the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning of the University's College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, has been selected to Chair the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
TRB is a major division of the National Research Council, the principal operating agency of the National Academies of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Institute of Medicine. TRB's mission is to promote innovation and progress in transportation through excellence in research.
In 2004 Dr. Rosenbloom was named a lifetime Associate of the National Academies of Sciences in recognition of her contribution to the National Research Council. Dr. Rosenbloom will serve as Vice-Chair of TRB in 2011 and become Chair in 2012.
She will also continue in her role as the International Secretary of TRB, charged with assisting TRB in promoting international research activities and exchanges at the highest level often serving as TRB's "face" in transportation research forums around the world.
