Francisco Zazueta, B.Arch '26
"I believe the built environment has the power to positively influence communities. Through architecture, I hope to contribute to more just, thoughtful and resilient places, and to use design as a tool to serve the people and contexts I work with."
Francisco is President of the American Institute of Architects Student Chapter and Winner of the AIA Southern Arizona Chapter 2025 Presidential Citation.
Isabella Cleopatra de Sousa Proulx, BLA '25
"I really enjoy my studio classes and getting to create something new with the assistance and guidance of my amazing professors! I think studio projects are so fun and it’s super exciting to present them, especially when real communities are involved."
Isabella Proulx, '25 BLA Isabella completed an internship working for Universal Studios in Orlando. She worked on the "Epic Universe" theme park expansion, which opened in 2025.
Soleil Lemons, ‘26 SBE
"Within SBE, I have found a great interest in design and planning. The diverse array of courses gave me an opportunity to see what it means to create sustainable built environments...and showcase both my creativity and problem-solving skills."
Soleil plans on pursuing a master's degree in urban planning after graduation.

Get Involved with CAPLA
From diverse clubs to the Design Build capstone course, there's a wide variety of opportunities for students to engage with peers and make an impact on the built environment.
THE CAPLA JOB INTERVIEW FAIR
Each year, CAPLA students have the opportunity to meet top firms from across the country in the Job Interview Fair. Students strengthen interview skills, refine resumes, and build a polished portfolio--some have found internships or a job!
DESIGN BUILD
Design Build is an architecture capstone course available to students in their final year. It offers the opportunity to develop a design, create a budget, and prepare a construction plan—then bring that plan to life through a full-scale build.
CAPLA STUDY ABROAD
Students can embark on a CAPLA Study Abroad trip to historical and modern cities to learn about architectural history and cities of the future. Past study abroad trips have gone to Tokyo, Italy, France, and Germany.
STUDENT CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
CAPLA's 12 student clubs and organizations facilitate cross-disciplinary activities, provide leadership for greater student involvement in service projects, organize weekend events and work with professional affiliates on various projects. No matter your major or your areas of interest, you'll be sure to find a club that's right for you!
