CAPLA West Building Renovation Began May 15, 2022
Renovation of the CAPLA West Building begins on May 15 and completion is planned for the end of December 2022. The renovation will address several issues on the second and third floors of CAPLA West, as well as update the restrooms on the first floor. Specifically, the renovation incorporates better lighting, larger studio space, better air flow and natural ventilation, sensors to measure air handling, more faculty offices and additional collaboration space.
We are making every effort to accommodate students next year in a way that is the least disruptive while still adhering to university rules for classes and public health directives.

Studio Space for Summer 2022 and Fall 2022
Students taking studio classes during the summer will be assigned space in the CAPLA East Building. Please check with your instructor. For Fall 2022, most students will be located in the CAPLA East Building and will have their own desk. School of Architecture graduate students will be at Education North (about 5-10 minutes away, on Speedway Boulevard). Planning and SBE students do not have studio in Fall 2022, so they will not have an assigned desk. However, there will be some flex space made available for School of Landscape Architecture and Planning students on the third floor of the CAPLA East Building.
