Important Convocation Information

Graduating students attending Convocation and Commencement are required to wear caps and gowns. Regalia can be purchased from the U of A BookStores

What regalia do I need? 

Bachelor's Regalia
Cap & Purple Tassel
Bachelor's Gown
CAPLA Stole (Optional)

Master's Regalia
Cap & Black Tassel
Master's Gown
Master's Hood
CAPLA Stole (Optional)

  • A limited number of caps, gowns, and hoods are available to borrow for the ceremony. To request regalia, please contact Jeff Javier at jjavier@arizona.edu. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Graduating students will receive CAPLA medallions to commemorate their achievements—bronze for undergraduates and silver for graduate students.
  • Undergraduate students who qualify for academic honors—Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude—will also receive honor cords to recognize their accomplishments.

More information on where and how to pick up medallions and cords will be provided in early April. 


E-TICKETS FOR GUESTS
Students who register for the CAPLA Convocation will be the first to receive information about claiming digital tickets for guests.

IS THERE A CAP ON TICKETS FOR GUESTS? 
Yes. Each graduate is allotted 10 tickets for their guests. Closer to the ceremony, any unclaimed tickets will be pooled for redistribution.  


Centennial Hall Information

  • Anyone entering Centennial Hall CANNOT enter with their regalia on. They must enter with their regalia in hand and put it on after they enter the building.
  • Regardless of where a person enters Centennial Hall, they will go through a set of magnetometers and any small bags will be subject to a bag check.
  • Large bags are not permitted through the lobby or backstage.
