Megan graduated from CAPLA in 2005 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.  She lives in San Francisco, California with her husband and their son, Andy and a French Bulldog named Bernadette.  Megan is a licensed architect and the managing principal of an architecture firm specializing in multi-family housing and hospitality in and around the Bay Area.  Megan has lived in San Franciso since graduation and loves the city, but proclaims that Tucson will always be her home.

Gabby Abou-Zeid is a first-year civil engineering graduate student, 2019 Eisenhower Fellow and recipient of the 2019 IBPI Rex Burkholder and Lydia Rich Scholarship. She is pursuing her M.S. at Portland State University and working with Dr. Kelly Clifton's SUPER (Sustainable Urban Planning & Engineering Research) Lab. She received her BS in sustainable built environments from the University of Arizona in 2019, and plans on pursuing a PhD in a transportation-related field after her master's program. Prior to coming to PSU, she conducted research with Dr.

Mike relocated to Phoenix from Tucson in 2020 to work with LOCALSTUDIO as their Senior Director of Design.  Mike was named the 2019 AIA National Young Architect Award Recipient and was recognized in 2018 in Design + Construction magazine in their national '40 Under 40'.

Christopher grew up in Phoenix and after a two-year stint studying painting and sculpture at the University of Colorado he returned to Arizona to enroll in the architecture program in Tucson.  He met his future wife at the UofA (Sara Rivard), follower her to Kansas City, then to San Francisco, (where his first children were born).

Born and raised on the south side of Tucson, Bob explains he was privileged to win a scholarship to attend the UA and the College of Architecture.  He describes his five years at the college as "transformational" . Bob remained in Tucson following graudation, working for Anderson DeBartolo Pan.  He worked for a short time on a project in San Diego for ADP, before they asked Bob to relocate to open an office for the firm in San Francisco in 1989.  Bob is still practicing and says he will always be a Wildcat!

Klindt worked for Finical & Dombrowski in Tucson following graduation from CAPLA.  Irv Finical established IEF Group Architects/Planners in 1984 and Klindt, Dave Cattanach ('81) and Terry Lee ('81) joined him in practice.  In 1991, Klindt became president of the firm and in 2001 changed the name to Breckenridge Group Architects/Planners.  Over the years his practice has focused on public projects and has had the great privilege to design numerous public buildings at the University of Arizona including the Eddie Lynch Pavilions at McKale Center and the Jefferson Gymnasium

Bart has practiced landscape architecture for a number of years. He has worked on and completed many projects of various scopes. He was been a member of ASLA for a long time.  He has worked on and completed many projects of various scopes.  He was a Section Leader for both the New York Upstate and Pennsylvania DL Chapters and led state conferences in both chapters.  He is now happily retired doing some consulting.

Michelle graduated and was commissioned into the Space (Satellites and Ground Radars) and Missiles (ICBMs) in 1999.  She completed her Masters in Business Administration in 2005, and retired from the Air Force in 2014 as an Assistant Director of Operations, Advance Space Operations School.  She is credentialed as a program manager, project manager, and talent development professional, and completed a PhD with an emphasis on Generation Z in the workplace.

Kevin Burke serves the Tucson community by promoting sustainable, high-quality growth, and economic development as Deputy Director for the City of Tucson Office of Economic Initiatives.  His work is focused on collaboration with regional partners, including Sun Corridor, Pima County and the local business community.  Born and raised in Tucson, Kevin graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington before earning a Masters degree in Planning from the University of Arizona.  Prior to joining the City of Tucson team in 2019, Kevins' professional experience incl

After practicing for several years and becoming registered, Frank migrated to interior architecture and worked with numerous corporate clients while employed at HOK and HKS in Dallas.  He enjoyed working on the periphery of building architecture and found it was a very good fit for his interests and skills.  Working within global architectural firms he worked closely with the building design teams.  His clients included Brinker International (Chili's), Glaxo, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Frito-Lay, Nortel, Trammel Crow and Banco Serfin.

After a rewarding architectural career, Bruce made the decision to return to school to study law.  Although he remains a licensed architect, he currently practices law in his own firm in Los Angeles, California.  Bruce's law practice involves assisting clients in securing complex governmental land-use and development approvals.  Additionally, he assists clients with the negotiation of construction agreements and construction related professional service agreements.

Andy is grateful for his time at CAPLA which he attended after receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Idaho.  Andy is the principal of an eighteen member firm in Boise, Idaho and works in twelve western states and Canada.

Dwayne R. Eshenbaugh, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is founder of NOVUS Architecture, an award-winning firm located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.  The firm provides architecture, interior design, planning, and sustainability services to an esteemed group of like-minded clients.  Dwayne received his bachelors degree from UNLV School of Architecture and then his masters degree at CAPLA where he was awarded the Daryl B.

Amelia Falco serves as Creative Director for Local Projects.  Amelia's passion for design, hospitality, and retail helped her develop award-winning work that has been featured in Vogue, Fast Company, Metropolis, and the New York Times.  During 15+ years designing, Amelia has worked with a diverse range of projects and clients including the Adidas flagship stores in Beijing and NYC, Comcast, Google, Starwood, and Uniqlo among many more.

Upon graduation, Robert moved to the San Francisco Bay area to start his career.  He became involved with the design of acute medical facilities.  In 1988, Robert established his own firm, which specialized in health care design.  Robert is still involved with the firm, but classifies himself as "semi-retired".

After going through the MS Planning program, Connor Harmon felt prepared and ready to tackle a full-time planning job. He is a development planner for the Village of Mount Prospect, a suburb outside Chicago, Illinois. Because the village is mid-sized suburb (population 55,000), he is able to gain exposure to many facets of the planning profession. He recently finished writing and designing a sub-area plan for the village, which was adopted last year.

Sally Holbert is a principal, founder and landscape architect at Land Logics Group, an environmental planning, design and technology firm located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  She has broad experience in using technology to improve decision making and project outcomes.  Her career experience includes forrest stewardship planning, green infrastructure design, recreation and open space planning, comprehensive land use and transportation planning and water supply protection plans.  Sally's most recent project has produced an innovative technology called PESTlogics.  PE

Oscar, who most know as “Fuzz”, graduated from CAPLA in 1981 and joined Gresham Larson Associates as a project architect working on schools, office buildings for more than six years.  JNC Development lured Fuzz away to work on the development side of commercial office, retail and condominium projects for a number of years before he went to work for The Tucson Local Development Corporation (TLDC).  TLDC purchased buildings on behalf of the City of Tucson, renovated, and restored the buildings that were then leased to the City on a lease back for the purchase agreement.  One of

Over the course of her professional career, Colleen (McCarron) McKenna has served on the design teams of over 75 sports, recreation and wellness facility projects throughout the United States and Canada, ranging from feasibility and programming studies to full architectural and design services. As the leader of CannonDesign’s national sports practice, McKenna supports the practice with an in-depth knowledge of functional planning requirements which result in design solutions that meet the diverse needs of her clients.

Chris is a Tucson native and lived near the UA campus his entire life, until he moved to Los Angeles after graduation.  He worked mainly in single family residential, working on large custom homes in the Hollywood Hills, as well as some retail projects.  Chris recently joined HOK and has become a licensed California Architect.  At HOK, he has been involved with commercial interiors and is currently managing the construction of three new building on the VA Long Beach campus.  Chris enjoys riding his bike out to the beach occasionally and the vibrant music scene in LA.

Richard is AICP certified and has over 30 years of community planning in both public and private sectors, specializing in tribal, housing, school, and transporation planning.  In his current position, Richard has been recognized by APA for a pedestrian and bicycle safey plan, as well as a corridor redevelopment plan.  Richard lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his long-time partner.

Frank worked with several local firms and organizations in Tucson, including, Anderson Debartolo Pan, Tucson Unified School District, WSM Architects and Baboquivari School District as a project architect.  He started his own practice in 1997 specializing in single and multi-family design.

Chauncey completed a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at  Southern Illinois University in 1972.  He then pursued a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Arizona and graduating in 1981.  He then worked for several Tucson architecture firms including Buffington & Hassen, Kim Acorn & Associates, James M.

After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree Mark returend home to Chicago and began his apprenticeship with Bertrand Goldberg followed by working with design/builder Andrew Spatz who taught him how to build the projects they were designing.  Mark opened his own small practice in 1998.  In 2011 Mark discovered The Passive House Standard and became a PHIUS CPHC and Certified Passive House Builder.  He had a two-year term as Executive Director of the Passive House Alliance US and is co-founder of the Chicago Chapter.  Mark is completing his most ambitious project to

Amy Webb was honored CAPLA's inaugural recipient of the CAPLA Recent Alumni of the Year award in November 2019. She is a landscape architect at Norris Design based in Tucson and has maintained meaningful ties with the CAPLA community since her graduation with the MLA. Amy established the Landscape Architecture Leadership Scholarship to support graduate students, and continues to support the college through her participation with Norris Design at the CAPLA Job Interview Fair.

Following graduation, Robert focused his career on the development of commercial and residential interior spaces, working in different architectural and interior firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles before opening his own practice in Orange County, California in 2012.

Upon graduating from CAPLA, Robbie traveled overland extensively for two years studying various cultures and architecture, finally landing a job designing high rise structures in Chicago.  He worked as a design architect in San Francisco on projects such as the Pavilion for Spaceship Earth and Future World while enjoying life in the Bay Area.  Robbie found his true self as a professional sculptor for the next 30 years with his company Lou Pearson and Robbie Robins, Sculptors.  He is presently retired and painting in Tucson, Arizona.

After working as an apprentice and gaining licenses in Arizona and Illinois, Leif set off on a corporate career in the healthcare sector.  Leif has held roles as a project architect, project manager, facility manager, program manager, engineering manager and director of real estate.  He has been involved in all types of lab projects and has completed office projects around the world.  Leif explains that his education at CAPLA provided a great foundation for all the roles he has had since graduation.

Kiriti Sahoo was born and raised in the temple city of Bhubaneswar, India.  Receiving a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2005 from NIT Trichy and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Arizona in 2008, Kiriti became a registered architect with Council of Architecture, India.

Edgar Sands attended the Ecole Des Beaux Arts, Fontainebleau in Paris in 1963. He lives in Flagstaff.

Jim is principal of his own firm, Jim Sauer Architect, LLC, established in 2019.  He became a licensed architect in 2018.  Jim has served as the Tucson-Pima County Historical Commissioner since 2014 and continues in that role at present.  Jim also has LEED AP certification which he received in 2009.  In addition to his Bachelor of Architecture degree, Jim also has a BA in Mathematics, Computer Science from the University of Rochester (1993) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley.  

David runs an architecture studio and workshop in the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand that he established with his late partner Im Sarasalin Schafer (CAPLA BArch 2003).  Their collaboration started in the dry heat of Tucson where they both received their Bachelor of Architecture degrees before returning to David's home town of San Diego.  There they worked in several significant architecture offices while earning their licenses in 2007, after which they promptly went to art school.  At Cranbrook Academy of Art they spent two intense years in the Methalsmithing and Ceramic

Michael Scherotter is a principal software development engineer in Commercial Software Engineering at Microsoft Corporation based out of San Francisco. Michael focuses on explaining and demonstrating Microsoft's developer platforms including Windows, Xbox, HoloLens, Office and Azure to some of Microsoft's top partners. Educated as an architect, he brings a sense of creativity and design to synergistic software development, and throughout his 25-year career in software development has specialized in combining and hacking software in innovative ways.

Following completion of his Master of Science in Planning, Karl moved to the UK to join his then girlfriend.  He worked for runnymede Borough Council as a Development Management Officer.  During this time Karl completed a post graduate diploma in Town and Country Planning at the University of Reading and gained membership to the Royal Town Planning Institute.  Thereafter he worked at Cardiff Council in a design role, and later joined Alder King Property Consultants as a private planning consultant.  Karl recently joined up with a former colleague at Pearce Planning in Br

Steve Shell graduated from the University of Arizona, CAPLA, in 1982 and has had his own architectural firm in Tucson for more than 33 years.  He was an early adapter of Revit Architecture®, and has used it exclusively in his practice since.  He is the co-founder and co-chair of the Southern Airozna Revit Users Group.  Steve has lectured at the University of Arizona, and is an Adjunct Professor at Pima Community College.  He is an internationally recognized top-rated speaker and is considered one of the original Revit pioneers.  Steve is the past Zoning Examine

Faed began his career in the City of Wellston, near St. Louis, Missouri.  He worked as a landscape architect as part of the urban renewal program with HUD.  After working as a landscape architect/planner on several overseas projects, Faed established his own office for planning and urban development projects.  He has pursued graduate work in urban and regional planning and earned high certificates in the UK for Environmental and Urban Regeneration.

Shannon is a member of the Hopi Tribe and was born and raised on First Mesa in northeastern Arizona.  She attended and received her BA in Geology from, Occidental College in Los Angeles.  After years of living and working in California, she returrned home to Arizona for graduate school and received her MS in Urban Planning.  Shannon has more than ten years of experience working in the planning field with the City of Signal Hill, California, Town of Marana, Arizona and most recently Thurston County, Washington where she is an associate planner.  She continues to focus her

Tom worked in construction before starting the Bachelor of Architecture program at CAPLA.  He completed his degree and worked to become registered, which he achieved in 1991.  Tom is currently a principal in Spendiarian & Willis Acoustics and Noise Control, an acoustical consulting firm in Tucson.  Tom is also principal in ADA Architecture, which is a solo venture.

Thirty-five years of local government planning starting in 1973 including Pima County, Arizona; Converse County, Wyoming; City of Yuma, Arizona; Moreno Valley, California; City of Big Bear Lake; California; Lake County, California; and City of San Pablo, California.  Charter member of the American Planning Association.  The emphasis of Al's work was in current planning and administration, including establishment and reorganization of local government planning programs.

My career has been based in Chicago where I have focused on healthcare design project management and internal operations. My wife Brooke and I have 3 kids and we are skating parents. Our 2 daughters are on synchronized skating teams (national reigning national champions :-)) and our son competes individually.

Within a year after graduation in 1990, Kacy worked four disappointing jobs for Tucson architects, as a draftsperson, delivering blueprints and secretary before leaving to travel Europe as a musician and watercolor artist.  In 1992 she found work in Barcelona as a secretary and Spanish translator for a London-based drywall company building the '92 Olympic tower.  She met her husband while travelling in a tiny house through Italy and in 1993, they were married in Romania before moving to Tucson to raise two children.  Though she earned a 4.0 GPA studying CAD at Pima Commu

Daniel decided to be an architect in high school. His top schools of choice were Cal Poly and Arizona. He chose Arizona and says "the program was fantastic. I have passed on my enthusiasm for CAPLA to my kids." His two youngest are B.Arch students.

After graduation in 1998, he worked for Gensler in Newport Beach, California. He then started Fuse Architects Inc with fellow classmate Dan Gomez in 2001; and are now Fuse Architects and Builders, a 20+ firm in Capitola, California.

Following graduation, Gabriel worked for Anderson DeBartolo Pan (ADP) in Tucson a year, then returned home to Peru.  In Lima, He worked in architecture with a high school buddy, though during his final year at CAPLA, Gabriel had already decided to get a business degree.  Returning to the US in 1985, Gabriel earned an international management degree at Thunderbird in Glendale.  Following completion of his degree, he worked as a project manager for several companies, first in Phoenix and then Los Angeles.  Gabriel started a family, had two children, and moved back to Lima

Glen was born and raised in Tucson and entered the first class at the College of Architecture in September of 1958.  The class was known as the Safeway Class as the College was housed in an empty Safeway store on Park Avenue.  Glen's education was delayed by a stint in the Air National Guard and he graduated in 1965.  Glen practiced architecture working on both commercial and residential projects.  He also flew single-engine, single-seat Air Force jet fighters for 30 of his 38 years of military service.  Glen retired as a Major General in 1999.

Gill has 29 years of professional landscape architecture experience focused on waterfronts, open space projects, natural areas as recreational facilities and public parks.  His work includes regional recreation facilities, natural area management plans, and feasibility studies.  He teams across disciplines to forge holistic, sustainable solutions to complex problems with longevity and durabiltiy in mind.  Gill has engaged the public in meaningful dialogue and created projects that respond to the needs and goals of the stakeholders and public.

Natasha trained as an architect with A Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and Master of Architecture from the University of Arizona. She has worked in natural building materials, particularly with strawbale construction since 1997.  She continued working in natural building materials through hands on classes ranging from earthen plasters, natural paints, earthen floors, and Japanese plasters.  Since 2000, Natasha has been involved in green building materials, particularly environmentally friendly interior finishes.

Peter is the sole proprietor of Peter Wolfe Landscape Architecture, providing design services to residential, multifamily, commercial, public and institutional clients throughout the San Francisco Bay since 2000.  Clients are primarily architects, owners, developers, municipalities and academic institutions.  Peter focuses on smaller projects under two million dollars in site construction cost, with an emphasis on urban sites, sustainability, and creating native habitats.

After a fabulous experience during my five years at U of A I finally landed in San Francisco. I worked for a hospitality design focused firm called Hill Glazier Architects for seven years in Palo Alto, CA. I moved to my current firm SB Architects and in my 20 year career I transitioned from designer to Owner. We are a 60 year old firm of nearly 100 people with offices in San Francisco, Miami, London, Hong Kong and Ho Chi Min. We focus on Planning and Architecture with focus on Hospitality, Mixed-use, Multi-Family Residential and Single Family Homes.

Alan has been the owner Amoskeag Architectural Group since 1977.  He is married and lives in New Hampshire.  In addition to his work with his architectural practice, Alan has worked on the east coast and Gabon, Africa as an energy conservation specialist.   Alan has been very active in his community due to his work as an architect and as a Rotarian and has enjoyed serving on Planning and Zoning Boards.  Alan states that he also owned a contracting company in the '70s and '80s, a computer mapping company (GIS) in the 90's and he is still working at 75.  He feels
