GPS Hardware available for Checkout

The College of Architecture has aquired some GPS equipment that is available for Faculty and Students to check out.

1. Trimble Juno SC

The Trimble Juno SC is a portable handheld computer from 2010. It has a GPS, with an external antenna port, and it runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Classic. It has a touch screen, and comes with two stylus. It can connect to mobile networks with a SIM card. It has a MicroSD slot, and it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.  It has a rear facing camera, a built in speaker, and an audio port. It comes with a wall charger, a car charger, and a USB cable. It runs a mobile version of Microsoft Office, and it has ArcPad 10, which is a GIS data collection software.

It is used for mobile field mapping and data collection. It uses the GPS to record GIS data, and is used for surveying an area for geographic details.

It can connect to ArcGIS services to provide GPS locations of points on a map.

2. Trimble GeoXH GeoExplorer 2008 Series

GPS unit with Windows Mobile and high-precision antenna backpack.

Programs: Office Mobile (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); ArcPad 7.1.1 and 8.0 (mobile field mapping/data collection software), notepad, calculator, calendar, messaging (email), Internet Explorer
