The facilities of the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) are considered extraordinary, with bright, spacious studio space, state-of-the-art computer facilities, a world-class Materials Lab and the Underwood Family Sonoran Landscape Laboratory, a model for the arid design principles of water harvesting, water reuse and the creation of desert microclimates.
These spaces are the academic home for students whose core academic program is housed within CAPLA. Students tend to spend late nights and weekends at the college when they are busy working on milestone and capstone projects, putting the final details on their portfolios, or are simply enjoying moments learning with their classmates. While many students choose to stay in Tucson for their entire academic program, some choose to take their studies abroad with an Study Abroad program.
