I have gained so much valuable experience in the Master of Architecture, which has ultimately given me the depth and refinement needed to forge a career developing large-scale green building projects. I see the shift to green building practices as a necessity, given that the built environment accounts for the majority of greenhouse gas emissions our world sees today.

Internships and Career Prep
Students are encouraged to participate in internships and externships, many of which can be taken for credit and pay. Our professional practice and communications courses, plus CAPLA’s interactive Job Interview Fair, ensure students are ready when they get the call.
Connect with Professionals in the Community
As an M.Arch student you’ll tap into the diverse professional resources of our community. Our School of Architecture lecture series is co-sponsored by AIA Southern Arizona, includes professionals as well as academics and is frequently hosted at the Tucson Museum of Art.
Many architecture community connections begin through our student organizations:
American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS): Hosts firm and building tours as well as portfolio charrettes with professionals.
National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS): Works to fight discrimination as well as foster communication and fellowship among members of the built environment field, including through guest speakers and networking events.
Puente: Hispanic architecture student club, with regular service projects in the community.
U.S. Green Building Council Student Chapter (USGBC): Tours construction sites and completed buildings so students see and learn advanced sustainable strategies in person.
Women in Architecture Society (WIAS): Committed to advancing the voice and opportunities of women in practice, WIAS hosts exhibits and holds seminars with leading women practitioners.
