Associate Professor of Architecture Clare Robinson, who joined CAPLA in 2012, explores how the everyday built environment facilitated the definition of social and aesthetic norms, and how professional designers used modern architecture and planning paradigms to define middle-class activities and spaces during the mid-20th century.

Professor of Practice in Architecture Elena Cánovas, who came to CAPLA in 2017 from Barcelona, views service as "being a part of a community that works together to build a common vision. This is a fundamental role of architects in society.”

Teresa Rosano, a partner in Ibarra Rosano Design Architects, joined CAPLA in 2011 and now teaches across the spectrum of the undergraduate and graduate architecture curriculum while continuing her practice and other passions, including martial arts.

Lisa Schrenk, who has visited over 85 countries and six continents in her travels, joined CAPLA in 2012 and incorporates her travel experience into courses on world architecture, the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and more. 

Laura Hollengreen, who has worked at CAPLA twice in her career, is researching theories of virtual and augmented reality to understand how some effects of digital media today were foreshadowed by immersive techniques in art and architecture of the past, especially medieval art, her area of expertise.

Assistant Research Scientist Adriana Zuniga came to CAPLA from Mexico in 2008 to pursue her MS Architecture degree. Since then, she has also earned a PhD in Arid Lands Resources Sciences and has taught and conducted research on human-landscape connections at CAPLA since 2015.

Mackenzie Waller joined the college this semester as assistant professor of landscape architecture.
