Master of Real Estate Development Admissions & Cost

Applications for the 2025-2026 Academic Year Open September 1.

Prospective students interested in either the Main Campus or Arizona Online Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program are encouraged to review the admission and application requirements below. Once you are ready to apply, please complete your online application through GradApp

MRED - MAIN CAMPUS

Application Deadlines (Main Campus)

The non-refundable application is $90. Fee waivers are not provided. 

Deadline 1: January 19 (for full consideration of college/departmental financial support)
Deadline 2: February 22
Deadline 3: March 22**

**After March 22, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, depending on program capacity, until one month prior to the start of fall semester. Applications from international applicants must be complete and submitted no later than May 25.

MRED - ARIZONA ONLINE

Application Deadlines (Online)

The non-refundable application is $90. Fee waivers are not provided. 

Arizona Online applicants can apply up to one month prior to the intended start 
semester (Spring, Summer or Fall).  

  • Deadline for Spring 2026: December 14
  • Deadline for Summer 2026: April 19
  • Deadline for Fall 2026: July 26

UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA GRADUATE COLLEGE REQUIREMENT

Students applying to the program must meet University of Arizona Graduate College admissions standards:

*Applicants that do not meet the minimum 3.0 GPA requirement, may pursue admission in the future by enrolling in 6 to 12 units as a Graduate Non-Degree Seeking student. For more information, please contact capla-grad@arizona.edu.

Prospective MRED students must apply online using GradApp. Applications will not be evaluated until all application material has been submitted in GradApp and the application fee has been paid. The non-refundable application fee is $90. Fee waivers are not provided. 

All applicants must upload the following documents using PDF format:

Statement of Purpose: Please submit a statement of purpose addressing each of the following prompts. Please use each prompt as a section header. 

  1. How have your past academic and professional experience prepared you for success in an MRED program? (150-200 words)
  2. The U of A MRED program is housed in CAPLA, a college that embodies the multidisciplinary nature of real estate development. Briefly explain why you want to pursue an MRED degree in an interdisciplinary college focused on the built environment. (150-200 words)
  3. What are your career goals, and how will an MRED degree help you achieve them? (150-200 words)

If your statement of purpose does not comply with this format, your application will not be considered or reviewed. 

Resume or CV: Please include a resume or CV outlining your academic and professional background.

Letters of Recommendation: Please provide the name and email address of at least one academic or professional reference who is willing and able to write a letter addressing your potential for success in graduate coursework and the real estate development profession. We will not consider your application complete until your reference has submitted their letter.

Transcripts: Please include unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended. If not in English, please be sure to include English translations in addition to the original. Upon admission, you are required to submit official copies of all transcripts to the University of Arizona Graduate College by the end of your first semester.

While CAPLA cannot guarantee funding through the MRED program, students are encouraged to apply for additional opportunities.

After their first full year in the program, students are eligible for a number of CAPLA-specific scholarships.
