Academics

It is recommended that main campus students attend the SBE program on a full-time basis in order to progress through the program within four years. However, students may work part-time jobs or internships while in the program.

It is highly recommended that main campus SBE students begin the program during the fall semester. However, students may be admitted for spring semester or otherwise transfer into the program after the first semester and be able to successfully integrate into the program.

Yes. The Arizona Bridge Program, a partnership between Arizona community colleges and the University of Arizona, provides a clear path to pursuing your bachelor’s degree. Qualified students have the opportunity to earn their associates degree at an Arizona community college and complete their bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona. Students may join SBE to complete the final two years of their degree.

Yes, SBE students may join Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Landscape Architecture students for summer study abroad opportunities.

There are computers available in the studio and computer lab; however, they are often used for courses. It is strongly recommended that you bring your own laptop computer to campus. Personal computers must meet specific computer requirements in order to run the necessary software.

Yes, the degree requirements are the same for SBE online and main campus. This allows students to transition between a traditional in-person program and our fully online program and maintain their progress towards completion. Students should work with their advisor to facilitate this change and to ensure a smooth transition.

Due to current building renovations at CAPLA West, tours are limited. However, we offer virtual tours and you may connect with our recruitment and outreach coordinator to discuss the program, including sitting in an online class. You may also connect with our Student Ambassadors, who are happy to tell you about the studio spaces and other building features.
