Verve Coffee Roasters: Dan Gomez '98 B.Arch and Dan Townsend '98 B.Arch, Fuse Architects + Builders
From the architects, Dan Gomez and Dan Townsend, Fuse Architects + Builders:
We were approached by two young owners of a very successful, single store coffee shop. They needed to expand, and so a new flagship retail shop and a new headquarters/roastery was the place to start. After learning about their business and the passion they had for their craft, we sketched out the ideas that would become their "look and feel" for their ever-growing business. We had recently added construction to our bag of tricks. Verve liked the idea of a true design/build approach. We were all in!
Our designs for them are raw, and bold, showcasing how important details are. This is how they feel about their coffee. As Verve's coffee was receiving national acclaim, our designs were catching the attention of publications like Architectural Record, and coffee books like Coffee Culture. Verve now has more than 14 cafes. We are proud to have helped them in their infancy to develop a look and feel that would stand the test of time.
