The Tucson chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women Network, or CREW Network, is sponsoring annual CREW Network membership for a CAPLA graduate student. Ella Jung, a Master of Real Estate Development student who will graduate in 2022, was offered the paid membership in recognition of her success early in the MRED program.

The membership was awarded by Barbi Reuter, global board president-elect of CREW Network and CEO and principal of Tucson-based Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR. “CREW Network membership and engagement have been a difference-maker in my career and have enriched my relationships,” says Reuter. “I love having the chance to pay it forward and connect the next generation of commercial real estate professionals to mentors and opportunities.”

The mission of the CREW Network is to transform the commercial real estate industry by advancing women globally, and “these paid memberships spark that transformation locally for young professionals,” she says. With 12,000 members worldwide and 80 in Southern Arizona, CREW Network’s initiatives include networking, industry research, leadership development and career outreach.

James Marian, adjunct lecturer in real estate development, agrees that membership offers a unique opportunity for students. “This membership will allow a CAPLA real estate development student to network with some of the most successful women in the commercial real estate marketplace, locally and beyond,” he says.

“This is a precious opportunity for me to be involved in a local community and expand my commercial real estate knowledge,” says Jung, who came to the U.S. to study real estate development after earning her MBA from Seoul National University in Korea. “CREW Network will introduce me to new role models, providing a path in synch with the MRED for becoming a successful real estate professional.”

In addition to this new relationship with CREW Network, the MRED program offers students opportunities to connect with the Pima County Real Estate Research Council and Southern Arizona CCIM Institute chapter. Learn more about the MRED at capla.arizona.edu/mred.
