Greetings from CAPLA!
The Fall 2020 semester has begun, and we are off to a very strong start. Our students and faculty have certainly overcome major learning curves and still remain enthusiastic and optimistic. Our development and alumni team are also feeling elevated as we begin the semester.
This summer the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture launched a new fundraising initiative to address the student needs of our digital learning environment. This effort aims to close gaps around student technology, namely laptops and hotspots, to perform adequately in a remote setting. Your input, feedback and support for our CAPLA Student Technical and Materials Initiative has been incredible. We were not only able to exceed our $10,000 goal, but we stretched the goal to $20,000 and are well on our way to achieving this. Your gift, whether $10 or $100, is very important. If you haven’t had a chance to participate please do so now at crowdfund.arizona.edu/caplatech!
We and our families, our CAPLA team and our colleagues have all experienced ups and downs these past several months, but we are adjusting and progressing. We hope that you are faring well and creatively adapting adjusting. A new semester has begun and with it we’ve launched a new freshman class in architecture, landscape architecture and sustainable built environments. That, in our minds, is something to smile about! Thank you for all of your positivity, encouragement and support. We feel it!
