January 2021

And we're off! January 1 now seems months in the past, but we are only three weeks into 2021—a year that we know will bring new challenges and tremendous opportunities.

We have so much news to share! You’ll soon hear more about the AGM/Ascension Universal Design Prizes that were awarded in December. An alumnus has established the new Judith Chafee Endowed Scholarship. Our faculty have received many prestigious awards. Our Tech Fund crowdfunding campaign raised twice its goal and students are benefitting greatly. The spring semester has begun and our faculty and students are again engaging with creativity and renewed vigor!

Our Job Interview Fair, held February 11-12, will be virtual this year. The popular event always proves to be valuable for both employers and students, and this year we have our first title sponsor, Chasse Building Team. We are also hosting a panel focused specifically on interviewing for our students with the opportunity for Q&A. There is a strong alumni presence among the firms participating and every year we hear how impressed firms are by CAPLA students. They love our graduates.

You’ll soon be hearing about two very special fundraising efforts to increase the endowments for the Chuck and Claire Albanese Travel Scholarship and the J. Douglas Macneil Scholarship. Stay tuned for that information and just as a teaser... there will be photos!

Our efforts this year are keenly focused on increasing our scholarship offerings as CAPLA enrollment grows and our community expands, as well as engaging alumni to enrich our programs.

We appreciate your stories, hearing about your successes and sharing them in our newsletter and on our website. We can’t share great news without the support and input from our donors and alumni. We hope you enjoy the alumni profile of Roy Noggle ’67 B.Arch.

Please continue your support of the CAPLA community to ensure the college continues our forward momentum. Give a gift that has a direct impact on our students, faculty and campus. We’re looking forward to a great year!

Thank you for your continued support of CAPLA.
