A School of Architecture Lecture
When
Luis Barragán: Light + Color
This lecture explores the circumstance of light and color, as essential spatial and emotional agents, in the work of Architect, Luis Barragán. Through the interplay of natural light, luminous planes, and carefully composed spaces, Barragan created environments that evoke silence and contemplation. His projects demonstrate how light and color can shape spatial experience, transform perception, and connect architecture with memory, spirituality, and the Mexican cultural landscape.
“We find beauty not in the thing itself but in the patterns of shadows, the light, and the darkness, that one thing against another creates… Were it not for shadows, there would be no beauty.”
