Biography

Kersu Dalal is an urban planner and designer with over 20 years of experience working on large-scale projects in the urban realm. As a senior designer and associate principal at the Los Angeles-based architecture and planning firm Johnson Fain, he has worked on several award-winning projects across the globe. Prominent among these projects is the winning urban design competition for the Central Business District of Beijing as well as the 303-acre mixed-use development plan for Mission Bay in San Francisco.

Along with his boss and mentor William H. Fain Jr, Kersu has co-taught an urban design studio at the University of California, Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design. Kersu received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Bombay before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a Master of Architecture with a concentration in Urban Policy and Design from UCLA. He lived in his adopted home of Los Angeles for 22 years prior to moving to Tucson in 2016. He currently lives in San Diego with his husband and works as an urban planning and design consultant with clients across California.
