Biography

Myles Peña, AIA is a practicing Architect and Lecturer of Architecture. Myles grew up in South Texas and on the Gulf Coast of Florida. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and studied Interior Design, Art History, and Urban & Regional Planning at Florida State University as a first-generation college student.

Myles brings diverse experience on projects of all scales across Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. He has worked as a Lead Project Designer, Project Manager, and as a Technical Architect in the design of educational facilities, high-rise workplace, and residential work. He has overseen over 800,000 SF of commercial, educational, and healthcare construction and served as an agent for a Global Real Estate & Finance team of a top 30 international company. Myles has been celebrated for his dedication and rigor to design quality, and for his strong analytical process that brings the poetic nature of spatial experiences to the foreground in the sea of practical requirements and constraints. After helping manage a small residential firm, he began his own practice, Myles Peña Architect in 2022 with residential projects in Washington and Idaho. After visiting and falling in love with the landscapes, architecture, food, and culture of the area, Myles relocated to Tucson in 2023.

Myles often works with his hands building small structures, installations, and furniture. Outside of the profession and teaching he is an accomplished cyclist and outdoorsman.
