CAPLA Job Interview Fair

How does CAPLA help students find jobs? The largest Job Interview Fair so far opens doors.

The 12th Annual CAPLA Job Interview Fair, made possible by the Chasse Building Team and 22 other sponsors, was held February 10-11, 2022. For the first time, the interactive two-day event took place both online and in person and included 42 employers, 145 students and 536 interviews.

Drachman Institute relaunch event

Drachman Institute Relaunches with Showcase Event and Appointment of Director Courtney Crosson

Assistant Professor of Architecture Courtney Crosson has been appointed director of the University of Arizona’s Drachman Institute by CAPLA Dean Nancy Pollock-Ellwand. Crosson's introduction was combined with a project showcase on April 13 in a "relaunch" of this important, community-focused institute.

World War I and the Avant-Garde: New UArizona Humanities Seminar Taught by Architecture Associate Professor Laura Hollengreen

From September 28 to October 26, 2022, Laura Hollengreen will lead an in-person and online UArizona Humanities Seminar that investigates the ecology of war in the later 19th and early 20th century to determine its impact on post-war perception, avant-garde art and architecture, and conceptions of place and memory.

CAPLA Graduate Students Bring Sights and Sounds of the Sonoran Desert to Austin for SXSW

“For thousands of years, the beauty of the Sonoran Desert has invoked wonder among its human inhabitants,” says Hunter Lohse when introducing the Sonoran Soundscape project that he and fellow MLA students Alizabeth Potucek and Christian Galindo created with Assistant Music Professor Yuanyuan (Kay) Le for the UArizona Wonder House at South by Southwest in March.
