The Duwamish People's Memorial and Gallery by Jenny Nguyen adapts cultural practices as well as architectural themes, patterns and materials of the Duwamish Tribe— a community of indigenous peoples who have stewarded the site for thousands of years but were quickly displaced following European settlement.

The project follows principles that focus on the relationship between quality design and patient recovery, including easy-to-navigate paths, daylight, privacy and views of nature.

Lafayette Healing and Wellness Center is a medical facility designed by Afshan Behnamghader in Detroit, Michigan. The design of the facility follows a set of performance criteria proven to have a positive effect on improving human wellbeing in space.
CAPLA Design/Build
CAPLA Design/Build involves students in hands-on projects via studio courses, independent study and other courses with lab components. The pedagogy of design/build centers around the belief that learning by doing is a powerful method of gaining and retaining knowledge because of the immediate application to tangible problems.
